Interview with the Hotel Mnager
Inspire asked us to make a short film teaching numeracy or literacy through an interview and simple demonstration for year 4 students in primary school.I was in a in a group with Philomena and Marley. We interwied a Hotel Manager named Gavin Smith.I was the director. The camerawomen was Philomena.Marley was the interviewer.I think our interview went well but it would have been easier for us if the interviewy talked a bit less and gave us more useful information.A demenstarion from the Hotel Manager was the only lacking thing in our interview. This is because we wernt at the hotel. We managed to solve this problem by puttin a picture of a loiunge room in a hotel in the background. At first this was a problem because the screen turned green and it didnt look good. The good thing about our interview was that we were prepared and we worked as a team. One thing that i could of improved was my skills in using imovie in order to help marley more in the editing process.

workshop day with SARCHI
On Tuesday we had all day workshop with a man called Rob from an advertising company called M&C SAATCHI. I learned all about the advertising company and how it works. I also learnt some of the useful tips that I can use for the future. The challenging bit of the day was when we had to plan and create an advert for the 'LONDON ROAD SAFETY'. We had to be in groups of four. We came up with 4 main ideas and at last we agreed on 1. It was challenging because we had to be creative. It was a bit hard to come up with loads of ideas and putting them together, but the was the whole purpose of the work. After I managed to do so with a bit of help from Rob. The successful thing about the day was the day was when we presented our idea in front of the whole class even though our ideas weren’t really good. I think this is because my group weren’t compromising. I think next time, I should try working with other people so I will be happy with my work and produce a good piece of work.

media lesson(interview)16th 0ct 2008
In today's media lesson I learned about what skills makes a good interview and different camera angles.First of all we discussed as a whole class some skills that makes a good interview.Miss flavell noted them down on the board as we told he.These are some skills that we came up with:
•Eye contact
•Being friendly and encouraging while still making your point
•Using open ended questions
•Projection and confidence
•Prepare your questions beforehand
•Before the interview, chat and put your interviewee at ease
•Give out the questions in advance so answers can prepared
•Responding to the answers you get
Later we got into pairs and asked each other questions to get use to the feeling of being interview and answering questions.I thought that it was really useful because it made me feel more confident and prepared. In the second lesson we did an interview with kitty and simon using camera.I learnt some techniques like where the camera angle should be when filming and how to set up the camera properly.I also learnt not to panic when answering questions and be confident. If I was in a interview I would want to be the person being inter vied. This is because I find it quite easy to interact with people and give my opinions.I want to learn more about cameras if I get time.

Art Lesson
In today's art lesson we had work on Photoshop to create a poster on what's happening in London or Hackney.I created a poster on "What's Happening in London".The lesson before,Beth and I made our title for the poster using letters that we cut out from magazines and newspapers.Mr Cullingford took pictures of our posters and uploaded them on to the computer. When we logged onto the computer we had to look for our posters.I had trouble looking for it but then sir helped me to look for it.Then i started editing the tittle on Adobe photoshop.I didn't know how to use the apple computers so i got really confused. Then Howard came to help me and taught me lots of different skills and effects that i could use to make my tittle make look better and effective.I experimented with lots of different effets and made my title look good. After i started adding informatoin about theatres. However i didn't get to finish it off so sir told us to finish it next lesson.I saved my work and logged out.I felt quite angry in the lesson because i didn't know how the use the computer but with the help of Howard i managed to get something done.
Drama-Evaluating performances
Reflecting on my filmed performance
1) Information was presented to the target audience by creating an advertisement and performing it. I’m not sure how to answer this question, as I wasn’t here on that day.
2) The things that could have been done to make it more informative for target audience is that the filming angles should have been more precise, talk louder, concentrate and plan well before starting to film. Watching back on the performances it was a little awkward for me but if I was there I would of made sure that the camera angle was precise and get people to talk louder.
3) Using drama, as a way of presenting was effective because we could empathy what people felt and it expresses what it is about rather than reading it.
4) Techniques that they could have included are voice projection, adding images and different angle shots.
5) The things that I learned about what is happening in my area are different events that are taking place in theatres around hackney and also the target audience for the event and when its on.
6) The things that they could have done to improve their presentation are making it clear who their target audiences is, the camera facing the actors faces and not their backs, they need to start concentrating more and not laugh.
7) Their acting was quite good as this is the first time they properly filmed. Their performance was effective because they had different ages of target audience and they played the role properly. The main thing that they need to work on is to empathise their role to be able to perform well.

Media lesson
In today's media lesson we had to finish off our mind map on Freemind.I was working with Beth.At first we had to log onto a computer and open up our mind map.We had trouble in opening it up because we did not know where we saved it.Later Ms Flavell came and showed us.We finished it off by adding some colours to the writings. After some time Miss stopped us.We had to log onto our blogs to add other teachers blogs and follow theirs. Then we added some of our friends blogs. Also we had to update it by summing-up up today's lesson. Then,I uploaded my mind map to my blog with Gina's help. Finally it was nearly the end of lesson so Miss told us to save our mind map. Then we logged out and went to lunch.
